Sam, having sleepless night in deep grief at the loss of his beloved wife, is spending sorrowful Christmas Eve with his son, Jonah.
Jonah, aware of his father, calls the counseling program on the radio and wishes, “Daddy needs a new wife.” While Sam reluctantly answers the phone after Jonah, he opens his painful heart that brings tears to all over the country.
Annie, listening to the broadcast far away in Baltimore, is one of the tears touching his heart. Annie is engaged, but getting fascinated with Sam she has never met as if enchanted by fate.

Review
This film is filled with songs which give me a sense of comfort. The characters are good, the story is heart-warming and romantic.
Japanese-dubbed version uses the word “Hirameki (intuition)” for the meaning of “magic” but I think it is much better to use “magic” directly.
