75 years have passed since the end of World War Ⅱ.
While many individuals around the world are wishing for peace, there are still a lot of conflicts and terrible things happening. Endless.
Why? − I have lived for 30 years, and however hard thinking over and over, I can’t find the answer.
But one thing is certain. we, whatever the reason, must not repeat “Hiroshima” and “Nagasaki”.
This in my heart, I took a step forward this summer.
“Haiku of Peace” organized by Tokyo Shimbun.
I posted my Haiku there recommended by my grandmother.
広島往く Hiroshima yuku
幼き脚へ osanaki ashi e
熱き風 atsuki kaze
Hiroshima −
throughout my heart
burned wind
空蝉や utsusemi ya
ありし日の声 arishihi no koe
ドームわたる Dome wataru
Nothing left
sound of the days
passing the dome
Both are the ones I wrote about my first visit to Hiroshima in teens, where I felt like the heat, blast, and the moans of the victims remain. My unforgettable memory that is.
I am not going to speak loudly “Anti-War”.
Just remember and pray for those who were suddenly deprived of love, childhood and life – this is small but the only what I can do, now and forever.
